KOLKATA: Award-winning Bengali film director Kaushik Ganguly says that he is truly proud of Nagarkirtan.

Written and helmed by Kaushik Ganguly, the film centres on same-sex relationships. It stars award-winning actors Riddhi Sen and Ritwick Chakraborty in lead roles. Riddhi essays the role of a boy from rural Bengal, while Ritwick has stepped into the shoes of a flute player from the Kirtaniya town of Nabadweep.

Nagarkirtan has been screened at film festivals and earned appreciation. It bagged four awards including the Special Jury Award (Feature Film) and National Film Award for Best Actor for Riddhi at the 65th National Film Awards.

The film has also been selected for the Indian Panorama 2018.

An elated Kaushik took to social media today to share the official poster of the film, and wrote, ‘Official poster of Nagarkirtan. I am truly proud of this film. Indian Premiere at IFFI,Goa, Indian Panorama. Release: 18th January, 2019. We received 4 National Awards for this production.’
