Channel V bids adieu to its shows; gears up for new beginning

Channel V

The young generation must be pretty sad today as one of the most popular youth channels of the nation, Channel V is all set to shut its shop now, only to return in its pervious avatar as the music brand.

Perhaps the early 90's kids, especially the kids of 90’s are quite happy with the news.

Yes, gone are the days of watching youth serials on Channel V and it’s time to walk down the memory lane, dear readers.

We remember Channel V presented us with a number of talented VJ’s including Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sehnaz Treasurywala, Mugdha Godse and many others who by now have made it big in the Bollywood. On the other hand, we had shows of Archana Vijaya, Lola Kutty aka Anuradha Menon, who changed the definition of anchoring on television forever.

Apart from the bunch of VJ’s, who were nothing less than superstars in their own right, Channel V, also gifted us with few super exciting shows like Get Gorgeous, Axe Your Ex, Dare To Date, Gumrah, Steal Your Girlfriend and many more. Be it turning a youth into a true fashionista or to trouble your former lover or to impress the girl of your dreams with the help of Kashmira Shah, Channel V made sure that our early teenage never gets boring.

The best gift by Channel V to their viewers is perhaps the first ever women popstar band, Viva. With a number of music bands gaining prominence during early 2000, Viva was the first ever women band ever. Now, dispersed, we can never deny the fact that the band showered us few best singers of Bollywood like Anusha Manchanda and Neha Bhasin.

A while later, Channel V, introduced some path breaking youth shows like Gumrah, D3, The Buddy Project, Surveen Googgal, Sadda Haq, Best Friends Forever, all of which went on to become huge hit.

Channel V surely went on to become a face of the youth shows in India and its actors going on to become youth icons.

And tonight, for one last time gear up to watch D4, Sadda Haq, Ishq Unplugged and Mastaangi.

While the channel is all set to bid adieu and return to its original form, we hope to see amazing music shows back on our television screen along with the good old VJs or may be few new ones.
