MUMBAI: Actor Ansh Bagri never really wanted to be part of the TV industry. The actor, who has done over 100 commercials as well as been a part of the film Days of Tafree, is now part of Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji. Ansh says that he was never fond of the medium.
‘I always do content-driven things, and I used to always think that TV is a very boring medium to be part of. I felt that every day, you had to do the same thing. I used to feel that I won't be able to do it. That's the reason why I never wanted to do TV because it has the same character and same look every day,’ he says.
He adds, ‘But eventually, when I did India's Next Superstar, it was an acting, dance, and performance-based show. After doing that, I saw that you get so much love after doing TV. As an actor, you get to do so many things. I got that clarity from there. The other reason to take up TV was when this show was offered, I felt like the character is not a typical TV character. There are a lot of challenges for my character, Rocky, in the show. Our production house, 4 Lions, is known to give good content and is very particular about their characters.’
However, does that mean that films will take a backseat in his career? ‘Right now, I just want to concentrate on Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji. I am improving every day as an actor and getting to show my talent. I am getting whatever I want to as an actor. I want to work and I am working. I want attention from my fans and I am getting that. I want appreciation and I am getting that as well, so it doesn't matter whether I am part of a film or a TV show,’ he says.
Way to go, Ansh!
