Mehul Kajaria
was born in
Kolkata but
he moved to
Mumbai at
the age of
three. After
few years,
he enrolled
himself into
a boarding
school in
Baroda before
coming back
to Mumbai
to pursue
a commerce
degree. As
one who’s
travelled
across various
cities, it’s
was only natural
for him to
be seen on
various television
channels too.
After
completing
his graduation
from Mithibai,
Mehul enrolled
himself
into a year
long workshop
in acting.
He always
wanted to
be an actor
and never
missed an
opportunity
to showcase
his talent
be it in
school/college
dramatics
or Gujarati
theatre.
Like
most actors,
Mehul too
had to go
through
the grind
in the initial
years. Afetr
modelling
for a few
ads, he
bagged his
first role
in Adhikari
brothers’
television
show All
the best.
Mehul also
acted alongside
Shekhar
Suman in
the show
Kabhi
Idhar Kabhi
Uhdar
on Home
TV. He played
his first
important
role in
Hip Hop
Hurray Part
II (Zee).
Thereafter,
he also
featured
in an episode
on Aahat
(Sony).
Mehul
became a
household
name with
Kyunki
Saas Bhi
Kabhi Bahu
Thi
(Star Plus),
where he
essayed
the role
of Harsh
Virani.
However,
not comfortable
with the
generational
leap, he
decided
to quit
the show.
After Kyunki,
he featured
in another
popular
show Teen
Bahuraaniyan
(Zee). Surprisingly,
despite
being part
of these
big shows,
Mehul considers
his performance
in Kehta
Hai Dil
as his
best. Mehul
also played
a small
role in
the Tushaar
and Kareena
Kapoor starrer
Mujhe
Kuch Kehna
Hai.
He
married
his sweetheart
Amrita Roy,
a software
engineer,
in November
2006. Marriage
certainly
has brought
him luck
as he bagged
a new show
Babul
Ka Aangann
Chootey
Na
