Rajesh Kumar
is known by
his screen
name Rosesh
Sarabhai.
The actor
received immense
appraisal
for his stint
with comedy
as Rosesh
in Sarabhai
V/S Sarabhai.
He debuted
in the year
1999 with
Star Bestsellers.
Acting happened
to him coincidently.
After graduating
in History
Honours from
Hindu College
(Delhi University),
he was eyeing
the civil
services.
But destiny
had something
else in store
for him. He
was in Mumbai
to stay with
his sister
for two months
when he took
up theatre.
Strangely
enough his
first stint
with acting
happened when
he was in
Nursery Standard.
Later Rajesh
decided to
do Mass Communication
from Xaviers’
College Mumbai.
But the interview
and the first
day of the
shoot for
Star Bestsellers
coincided
and Rajesh
had to choose
between the
two. Rajesh
decided to
do Star Bestsellers
as the shooting
would have
fetched him
Rs1000. Rajesh
says, “I had
a liking for
acting but
I never thought
of taking
it up as a
profession.”
Rajesh has
been receiving
compliments
for all his
roles but
mostly for
his Rosesh
act. He remembers
an old couple
complimenting
him and even
comparing
him with legendary
Mehmood.
Rajesh
lives in
Mumbai and
is married
to TV actress
Madhavi.
Rajesh also
enjoys reading
and is a
keen reader
of thrillers.
“A James
Hadley Chase
novel gives
me a huge
thrill.
But my first
love always
remains
outdoor
games. I
am a National
level baskekball
player but
was forced
to give
it up due
to a spinal
problem.
Though now
I do swim
regularly.”
