She completed her schooling from Sophia High School,and graduated from Mount Carmel College and Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts but dropped out. She started off her career with modelling and was badminton champion at the national level but later gave up her dream to pursue the glamor industry. She made her debut in Bollywood with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om in 2007 opposite Sharukh Khan and was crtically acclaimed for her success.
