Rajesh khanna was born on the 29th December, 1942. His actual name is jatin Khanna, who was born to a Punjabi family and was adopted by the family that had three daughters. He was a superstar at that time and had looks to die for. He drew attention of many women and had numerous fans. In the year 1973 he married Dimple Kapadia and has two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna. His eldest daughter Twinkle Khanna is married to Akshay Kumar. He acted in his first few films but they did not leave an impact on the Indian masses. His fortune turned towards him after his film Aradhana was released in the year 1969. He is also called 'shehzada' and 'king of romance'. He has worked for total 163 films. He made his debut in the year 1966 in the movie Aakhri Khat. After acting for this movie he was offered many movies like Raaz, Baharon Ke Sapne, ittefaq and Aaradhna. These movies did really well at the box office, they took Indian cinema to another level. He perfomed many interesting dance numbers which are very popluar in today's times. Mere Sapnon ki Rani, Kora Kaagaz Tha Yeh Man Mera, Roop Tera Mastana, Gun Guna Rahe Hain Bhawarein and Baaghon Mein Bahar Hai were few of the pop songs at that people grooved to. He futher acted for films like Khamooshi in the year 1969 to 1979. He has a been a member of the Lokh Sabha from the year 1992- 1996 in the constituency of New Delhi. There was agreat loss to the indian cinema as the great legend passed away on 18th July, 2012 after he was ill for quite a long time. He is awarded for his work by receiving 'Padma bhushan'. He is officially given the title of 'the first Indian superstar' at the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy awards. A postage was also released to honour him on the 3rd of May, 2013. As an actor he was always paired with Sharmila Tagore and Mumtaz. Between the year 1976 and 1978, five of his films were a hit and seven of his movies were a flop. But inspite of the fact there are many other facts that could symbolise the actor in terms of acting and performance.
