Bhanu Uday was brought up in Jammu, his father is an IAS officer and his mother is a lawyer. An alumnus of prestigious National School of Drama, Delhi, Bhanu, made his debut with the television show Special Squad. Then he appeared in number of films for small roles and few serials as well. He also appeared in the television mini-series named Ek Tha Rusty II based on the adventure series by Ruskin Bond. In 2014 Bhanu married his girlfriend and co-actor Shalini Khanna.
