Pooja Bose hails from Kolkata from a Bengali descent. She finished her schooling at the St. Paul’s Mission School and subsequently graduated from the Scottish Church College in Kolkata.[5][6] She longed to be an actress since her childhood as she told Washington Bangla Radio. It is heard that Puja was married some years back, thus getting the surname Bose. Prior to that she was Puja Banerjee (from her father’s side). As per the grapevine, Puja, after tasting success and smiling to the flashlights, treaded a different path and left her husband, who was a "simple non-industry" individual. She later fell in love with actor Kunal Verma. When got in touch with Puja, she commented, “Bose is just my screen name. But my real surname is Banerjee and I have decided to use it from now on.
