There are many in the industry who change their names for numerological reasons, but there is one who changed his name as he was getting bullied.

Who and why?

Well the good looking actor Samir Soni was named Samar, and since it sounded very similar to summer, he was teased by some bullies in his school. They even passed remarks like ‘it’s very hot’ whenever he passed by. He would go back home crying every time which made his concerned mother finally opt for the name change.

Well Samir or Samar, the audience would have loved you equally!

Samir Soni whom we have seen in many television shows started his career with a Doordarshan show called A Mouthful Of Sky. He made his film debut opposite actress Mamta Kulkarni in Rajkumar Santoshi's China Gate.
