MUMBAI: Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi have special plans for their upcoming patriotic film Lahore: 1947. Yes, you read that right! As per Bollywoodhungama.com, Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Sunny Deol want to release their film on the Republic Day 2025 weekend.

A source was quoted by the portal saying that the shooting of Lahore: 1947 is currently underway and the makers will wrap up the film by June 2024. The film has been shot in a studio set up with massive sets which have been recreated from the yesteryear era. Well, as per reports the main focus of the makers is on showcasing the real drama and action. They have kept minimal VFX.

Well, Aamir and Rajkumar Santoshi feel that the Republic Day weekend is the best time for their film to be released. The film showcases a man’s love for India and after Gadar 2's humongous success, actor Sunny Deol is all set to spill his magic once again on the big screens. As per reports, Aamir will have a cameo appearance in the film. Lahore: 1947 is one of the most ambitious films of Rajkumar Santoshi and he wants to reunite with Sunny Deol.

As per reports, during the grand success party of Gadar 2, Aamir Khan told Sunny Deol about the project and the latter agreed. The script is based on the famous play of Asghar Wajahat, 'Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai'. It is about a Hindu home who is left behind in Lahore, Pakistan.
