 HAIR-FALL CONTROL

MUMBAI: When it comes to your daily beauty routine, nothing can be as frustrating as dealing with unmanageable hair.

You can usually get away by a few dabs of makeup, but one can't move out of the door with sloppy locks. This has been an ongoing battle from trend to trend and one of the factors that continue to contribute to having great hair is oiling your hair right and at interim phases for steady growth, thick, and voluminous hair!

Trendsetters have guaranteed that every hair type needs to be treated with different hair oils for best results, like Argan oil for dry and frizzy hair, macadamia oil for damaged hair, and almond oil for beating dandruff among other problems, but coconut oil seems to rule the roost!

From decades, coconut oil has been an ancestral favourite, and over the years, people have been using it as a conditioner or hair mask. It revitalizes damaged hair and makes it shiny, smooth, and soft!

What’s more? Coconut oil is great for oil pulling, that is, the practice of swishing oil in your mouth for a few minutes each day. This kills bacteria that cause gum disease and bad breath and removes particles that brushing misses. Apart from this, it is an excellent skin moisturizer and is found in many lotions and creams!

We had a chat with actresses Helly Shah and Additi Gupta. Check out what they had to share.

Helly: The weather conditions these days do not favour keeping our hair oiled for two to three days, and I have also noticed that it causes hair fall. I oil my hair only a night before I plan to wash it. It keeps my hair nourished.

Additi: There are various benefits of hair oil. There came a phase when salons enforced that oiling your hair was bad. That’s why I stopped doing so. But then, I realized that my hair started getting dry and there was no new growth too. As actors, we are shooting day and night and tend to have a lot of hair fall due to the ironing and daily styling, so oiling your hair is essential apart from it aiding your diet.’

Now, if you’re inspired enough and are scouting for the best of oils available, Dabur presents three variants for thicker, stronger, and silkier hair: Amla, Almond, and Coconut.

Amla is useful to keep premature greying at bay. Almond obviously has the goodness of protein. The new Vatika enriched with coconut oil is an infusion of 7 Ayurvedic herbs—amla, brahmi, henna, kapur, lemon, bahera, and harar—along with having coconut oil as its base!

Another leading television face, Kratika Sengar mentioned that she swears by coconut oil!

‘I can swear by coconut oil. I not only apply it on my hair once a week but also use it to massage my skin to avoid dryness. I am extremely particular about this when I take beach vacations. I pick the best of coconut oils available,’ she averred.

Now you know how to nail your tresses like your favourite celebrity!
