Perhaps the role that redefined Padukone, this superhit made her an overnight sensation. As the quintessential party girl 'Veronica', she completely overshadowed her co-star Saif Ali Khan in this musical hit. She aced her alcoholic character with ease.

Ram Leela:

This was the most extravagant movie of 2013 and Deepika gave a stunning performance opposite her alleged real life lover Ranveer Singh. While most loved her acting chops, there were a few who went crazy over her exceptionally beautiful look in the movie. For her performance, she walked away with the Best Actor Award.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani:

As the nerd-turned-hottie, she was picture-perfect in this massive hit. The movie was significant for the unique pairing of Deepika and her ex-lover Ranbir Kapoor. The movie certainly had its highlights and became the talk of the town for his fun take on human relationships.

Love Aaj Kal:

In this musical hit, the leggy lass was seen romancing Saif Ali Khan for the first time. The two went onto do many more movie together that were a hit at the box office. The movie was noted for its 'hatke' story and Deepika's role was highly appreciated.

Finding Fanny:

As the Goan hottie 'Angie', Padukone was at her spunkiest best. We loved the way she handled this critically acclaimed movie on her able shoulders. While the movie wasn't such a hit with the masses, audiences sure loved her in this adventure movie.

Happy New Year:

This year's mega hit belongs to SRK, there's no doubt about that. But Padukone's 'Mohini' was appreciated for the way she danced and acted in the musical bonanza. Despite critics panning the movie for being logic-less, it was lapped up by the audiences!
