#GaneshChaturthi Special: 5 times Ganpati Bappa ruled Bollywood like a boss

Mumbai’s favorite Lord, Ganpati Bappa, is on his way for a ten-day long celebration. From pandal-hopping, modak-binging to dancing to the tunes of masala chart busters, there’s loads to do during this period. In fact, it’s not just us, but Bollywood is a huge fan of the elephant god as well! We take a look at the five times Bappa ruled B-Town like a boss…read on:

Deva Shree Ganesha (Agneepath):

This foot-tapping number by Ajay-Atul will bring out the devotee in you. It also forms a crucial part of the blockbuster hit, where Hrithik aka Vijay is on a killing spree. The rhythmic crescendo, pulsating chorus and hard-hitting lyrics make this Bappa song a must-listen.

Sadda Dil Vi Tu (ABCD):

In Prabhu Deva’s first outing as dance coach in Any Body Can Dance, there’s a pure ‘Ganpati’ number in the climax, which fetches the team the big prize. The impromptu number with a thumping choreography and adrenaline-pumping beats can make a dancer out of anybody. While the talented team burns the dance floor with its killer moves, it’s Bappa’s serene face that flashes in front of your eyes as you’re tempted to dance along with the actors.

Tera Hi Jalwa (Wanted):

What better way to celebrate the festival than going totally desi, eh? This super hit number, sung by Wajid, will make you shake a leg or two for sure. It not only has Salman at his jovial best, but also brings in dancing legends like Govinda and Prabhu Deva in the sequence. It might be an out-and-out tapori number, but it’s a hit at community functions and Ganpati pandals. Groove away!

Morya Re (Don: The Chase Begins):

In the Don reboot, Shah Rukh Khan showers his love on the Lord in this energetic number. It’s more of a praise number than a dance ditty, but that shouldn’t stop you from letting your hair down. Put on your dancing shoes and show your love for your favourite Lord!

Deva Ho Deva (Humse Badkar Kaun):

If traditional is what gets you going, tune into this classic that will transport you to the Mumbai by-lanes of the 80s. Sung by various artists, the song boasts of manjeera accents and energetic drum beats as well. What more do you need? Which is your favourite Bappa number? Let us know!
