Assamese socio-political thriller wins audience choice award at North Carolina Film Fest

Ekhon Nedekha Nodir Xipare (As The River Flows), an Assamese socio-political thriller has won the audience choice award at the North Carolina Film Festival. The film set in the river island of Majuli, stars Victor Banerjee, Sanjay Suri, Raj Zutshi, Preeti Jhangiani and Bidita Bag. Informed North Carolina International South Asian Film Festival director Gauri Singh in a statement, "The Audience Choice Award for 2014 goes to 'As The River Flows'. It was beautifully done." The film has also been selected for screening at the upcoming 14th annual New York Indian Film Festival said to be North America's oldest and most prestigious destination for feature films, documentaries and shorts from and about the Indian subcontinent. The festival is to be held from 5 to 10 May.
