MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone, in recent times, has played an important role in spreading mental health awareness in India. The actress has openly spoken about her brush with depression several times. In the past, she was caught in crossfire when Salman Khan said that he doesn't have the luxury to be depressed. The actress had indirectly addressed the statement back then.

One year on, in an interview with Vogue, the Padmvaat star has directly taken a dig at Salman. In her interview, Deepika said that the word that best describes her depression is 'struggle'. She added, 'Every second was a struggle. I felt exhausted the whole time.'

Deepika further said that people confuse it with being sad, as another star had said that he didn’t have the luxury to be depressed, as if depression is a choice.

Deepika and Salman have appeared together on multiple episodes of Bigg Boss when the actress had to promote her film releases. But the two stars are yet to feature in a movie together. We wonder if, after a statement like this, which is no less than an open fire, they will ever work together.
