MUMBAI: Deepika did a favour to many people when she spoke about mental health killers like depression. She came out and expressed her feelings, as she wanted common people to understand their struggles with inner demons. In a way, she managed to influence a lot of people, as they started to be more vocal about it and could share their experiences with one and another. Not just opening doors, she sat there to have conversations about mental illness and worked towards removing the stigma attached to it. Her foundation, Live Love Laugh, is proof.

In fact, in another endeavor, before Deepika married Ranveer Singh, she penned down a powerful note about depression and her personal tussles when she was diagnosed with it.

By publicly talking about her own battles, she empowered many to reach out and seek help. Her letter is full of empathy and kindness.
