I would never want a biopic to be made on my life - Sreesanth

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is back and looking to lead life afresh with renewed vigour. Having put his controversial past behind him, Sreesanth is now gearing up for his Bollywood debut with both Hindi and South Indian films in hand. With films from eminent people like Pooja and Vikram Bhatt in hand, Sreesanth seems ready to play well in his 2nd innings.

Talking about his film journey, Sreesanth says, “ I have Pooja Bhatt's Cabaret where I am playing a serious character while in Woh Kaun Thi, I play a Gujarati guy and it is a proper family entertainment. I also have a movie with Sachiin Joshi called Haunting of Mumbai mills where I have a character role. It's a bilingual."

While his film career is certainly on a positive upswing, his cricket career is on the backburner for the moment. "Not a day goes without me missing cricket," confesses Sreesanth and adds, " Things settling down as far my court case goes. If everything falls in place, I think I will be able to play first class in November and then may be represent India again. I still gave a good 10 years of cricket left inside me."

Among the many exploits of Sreesanth, the one that is still remembered fondly with glory is his catch in the final of the World Cup T20 which helped India lift the cup. With Dhoni's biopic gearing up and Sreesanth an actor today we couldn't help but ask if he would be interested in essaying his own self in the movie. "I haven't been approached. I don't even know if there is Sreesanth in Dhoni's biopic."

What about his own biopic? Pat comes Sree's reply, "If anybody makes a biopic on me or anyone else makes a biopic on me, it would be very controversial. I am a true man and I speak the truth. So it’s better that no biopic is ever made on my life."

On the personal front, Sreesanth has a lot to look forward to. He will become a father for the first time in May. "I am eagerly awaiting. Right now, I am spending maximum time with my wife who has been extremely supportive."

Well, let's hope the baby's arrival turns tables for good for this talented cricketer.
