Chris Pratt, Tom Holland to voice 'Onward'

Stars Chris Pratt, Tim Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer are leading the voice cast for Onward, Pixars next original movie.

Directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae, the film by Pixar Animation Studios is slated for theaters on 6 March 2020, reports of media.

Pixar had previously referred to the film as an untitled suburban fantasy. Scanlon, who helmed 2013's Monsters University for Pixar, has re-teamed with producer Kori Rae, who also produced Monsters University.

Onward follows two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still magic left in the world.

Scanlon, who was raised in Michigan, said the film's story is driven by his own life. He was one and his brother was three when their father passed away.

"At Pixar we try to create stories that come from some kind of personal truth," Scanlon said. "This film was inspired by my own relationship with my brother."

JLo chose co-star for 'Second Act'

Hollywood diva Jennifer Lopez says actor Milo Ventimiglia was her first choice for the character of Trey in Second Act, and that it was a pleasure to work with him.

In the film, which revolves around the story of Maya, a deserving but undervalued woman, Lopez portrays an ambitious character who gets a chance to prove that street smarts are as good as book smarts in the real world, if not better.

When she was doing a reading of the script, Lopez knew exactly who she would like to play her love interest in the film.

"I only saw Milo Ventimiglia for Trey," the actress said in a statement.

"His face always popped into my mind. He's so busy now with his hit show and probably one of the biggest moments in his career, but he read the script and once we spoke we both knew it was something we wanted to do together.

"An actor like Milo, whose heart and emotions are so wide open to whatever might happen in the moment, is a real pleasure to work with," Lopez added.

Directed by Peter Segal, the film stars Leah Remini, Vanessa Hudgens and Treat Williams.

PVR Pictures will release this film in India on 4 January 2019.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan to return to 'Supernatural'

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is making a return to Supernatural to help celebrate the show's milestone of 300 episodes, 12 seasons since he was last seen on the series.

John Winchester (Morgan), the father of Sam (played by actor Jared Padalecki) and Dean (played by actor Jensen Ackles) was killed back in season two, saving Dean's life in the process.

While Morgan's voice was heard in season three, he hasn't appeared on the series in all the years since, and now he is finally coming back, reports of leading publication.

"We're incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character...and a few other surprise guest stars," said executive producer Andrew Dabb.

The episode, called Lebanon, explores the Kansas town where the bunker is located, and reveals what the town's residents think of the two weirdos who live in that bunker.

According to the show's executive producers, it won't be anything like the show's 200th episode, which followed a high school production of a musical based on the Winchesters.

Megan Mullally to host 2019 SAG Awards

Actress Megan Mullally will host the 2019 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The Will & Grace actress will host the 25th edition of the gala on 27 January 2019, at the Shrine Auditorium here, reported by media.

Mullally won two Primetime Emmy Awards for supporting actress in a comedy series in 2000 and 2006, along with four SAG Awards for her role as Karen Walker in Will & Grace.

"We are delighted to have the talented, warm and funny Megan Mullally to host the SAG Awards Silver Anniversary. This is a very special year, and we are all looking forward to a memorable show," said executive producer Kathy Connell.

Mullally said, "As a frustrated casting director and full-on fangirl of great actors everywhere, I'm over the moon to be a part of the SAG Awards 25th Anniversary."

Sandra Bullock labels herself 'neurotic'

Actress Sandra Bullock dubbed herself "neurotic and afraid every day" while detailing her list of worries as a parent.

She stars as a mother who desperately tries to save her two children from a mysterious force in the new post-apocalyptic horror film Bird Box.

And Bullock has now admitted to having the same fears when it comes to her own children Louis, eight, and Laila, six.

"I know now what it feels like to be afraid every single day because I love my kids to the point where I'm a little neurotic," Bullock said in an interview, reports of leading publication.

Offering further context she said her terror stemmed from "what's happening in the world, am I a good mother? When they leave the house and go to school I check my phone constantly... do the school call?

"Are they going to get hurt. If they're leaving with someone else, I panic. I have to learn how to relax in a world than spins that kind of worry and remind myself, and my children, that it is also a hopeful place."

'Brokeback Mountain', 'Jurassic Park' added to National Film Registry

Popular film titles Brokeback Mountain, Jurassic Park and My Fair Lady among others are a part of this year's additions to the National Film Registry, guaranteeing that the movies will be preserved under the terms of the National Film Preservation Act.

The Shining, Hud and Monterey Pop are among some of the other best known titles chosen by the Library of Congress as part of a list of 25 films. The criteria for selection are that the movies are "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant, reported by leading publication.

"The National Film Registry turns 30 this year and for those three decades, we have been recognising, celebrating and preserving this distinctive medium," said Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden.

"These cinematic treasures must be protected because they document our history, culture, hopes and dreams," Hayden added.

The 2018 selections bring the total number of films in the registry to 750.

The new titles also include Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 thriller Rebecca as well as a trio of film noir titles -- Leave Her to Heaven (1945), Orson Welles' The Lady From Shanghai (1947), and Pickup on South Street (1953).

Other notable movies are Disney's 1950 animated Cinderella; Days of Wine and Roses, Blake Edwards' 1962 story of alcoholism; James L. Brooks' comedy-drama Broadcast News (1987); One-Eyed Jacks, Marlon Brando's only directorial effort; the 1949 musical On the Town; Kasi Lemmons' 1997 thriller Eve's Bayou; and 1955's thriller Bad Day at Black Rock.

Two war films -- The Informer and Hearts and Minds -- are there too.

The 1891 released Newark Athlete is the registry's oldest title.

Sarah Hyland unveils scars from her 16 surgeries

Actress Sarah Hyland got emotional while showing scars from her 16 surgeries.

The actress, 28, revealed earlier this week that she experienced suicidal thoughts following the failure of her first kidney transplant and underwent a second operation in 2017.

Breaking down in tears in an interview with a magazine, the Modern Family star spoke about kidney dialysis and how she is not letting her scars define her, reports of media.

Calling the area of her scars her KUPA - kidney upper p***y area, she confessed that although she is on the mend, it's still hard to show off.

"For me, it's always hard for KUPA to be on display," she shared.

"Still mentally it's hard to get over that. I think personally for someone to be so tiny to have a stomach that looks like the New Jersey turnpike, just shows who I am and what kind of character I have."

She also explained that she had undergone seven surgeries before the age of 4 and since then the number racked up to approximately 16 before the age of 27.
