The dynamics in the Karisma Kapoor-Sunjay Kapur divorce saga has gone for a huge toss. Even as the two are battling out their divorce proceedings in a Bandra court, Karisma has filed a dowry harassment case against her estranged husband, who have been separated for five years now.

The details in their never-ending divorce battle is getting murkier by the day, if a report in a leading daily is to be believed. According to the report, Karisma approached the Khar court to register a complaint of mental and dowry harassment against Sunjay and mother-in-law Rani.

Furthermore, the report states that the former Bollywood leading lady was called by the cops to record her statement, which stated that she has been harassed by the Kapur family for over a period of time.

Apparently, the Khar police registered an FIR (no 98/16) under the dowry section 498 (A): husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty and Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

Karisma and Sunjay, who tied the knot in 2003, had initially filed for divorce via mutual consent. But Karisma later withdrew her consent from the divorce petition stating that her estranged husband had failed to meet his financial commitments.

The saga took another drastic turn when Saunjay filed a fresh petition against Karisma accusing her of marrying him for money. He also further mentioned that his former wife had failed as a mother and wife and had deliberately kept their children, Samaira and Kiaan, away from his ailing father.

The children, whose custody is in the midst of this battle, are said to be used as pawns by Karisma, according to Sunjay.

Karisma’s lawyers are likely to file a reply to this at the next hearing scheduled for March 3.

The two tied the knot in September 2003 and have two children together. While Karisma was allegedly on a rebound from ex-fiancé Abhishek Bachchan, Sunjay was earlier married to designer Nandita Mahtani.
