It is not unknown that Alankrita Shrivastava, director of Lipstick Under My Burkha, had announced that she would be making her next film under Ekta Kapoor’s banner, Balaji Motion Pictures. As per media reports, Bhumi Pednekar has already signed the movie and will play one of the leads in the two-heroine dark comedy. Now, we hear that ace actress Konkana Sen Sharma has been roped in as the other lead in the female-centric drama.

The movie is about two women and their coming-of-age story and is set in Greater Noida. When Alankrita narrated the script to Bhumi and Konkona, they fell in love with it and instantly agreed to do the movie. They are presently prepping for the film and will start shooting next week.

Meanwhile, the film has been in the making for long. While Bhumi was supposed to star along with Vidya Balan and the movie was going to be directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, later, Alankrita was asked to helm the film. With Alankrita on board, eventually, several names including Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were in the offing to play the lead roles.

However, now, putting all speculation aside, it seems like Bhumi and Konkona will play the powerful and rebellious women. The yet-untitled film will offer an interesting mix of comedy, emotions, and drama.
