Krrish 3 starts trade battle in Bollywood: Critic Komal Nahata accuses Taran Adarsh of plagiarism, calls Taran 'bikau journalist'

Komal Nahata and Taran Adarsh
Komal Nahata and Taran Adarsh are two well- known and respected journalists in Bollywood. But looks like there is certainly no love lost between the two. With Krrish 3 receiving a bumper Diwali opening, all eyes are glued to these two trade analysts’ tweets to know the latest box-office figures. We were doing the same when one particular tweet from Komal and its subsequent replies made us stop in our tracks and read it with avid interest. On November 2nd Komal tweeted: Komal Nahta ?@KomalNahta2 Nov K3 grosses 95 lakh PAK rupees on Fri. This is the highest ever opening day collection in Pakistan To this one of Komal’s followers replied: Aka Khiladi... ?@RajatTheKhiladi2 Nov @KomalNahta Sir apka tweet copy kiya @taran_adarsh ne again... Komal replied back immediately saying: Komal Nahta ?@KomalNahta2 Nov @RajatTheKhiladi Hamesha aisa hee hota hai! Ab uski laachari par taras aata hai, uske copying par gussa nahin! Another follower wrote: Baba Aaramdev ?@AaramdevBaba2 Nov @komalnahta sirji mahan taran adarsh ne phir se aapki tweet copy paste kar di... To this Komal replied: Komal Nahta ?@KomalNahta2 Nov @AaramdevBaba Nothing new, right? Yet another follower wrote: Salman's Aficionado! ?@HudHud_Dabangg2 Nov HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Adarsh wale sir ne phir copy maari :P @KomalNahta Komal’s reply to this was: @HudHud_Dabangg Ha ha ha ha Baffled at this development, we rang up Komal to get a firsthand account of the entire story. And this is what Komal had to say, “Please don’t compare me with Taran. He is a bikau journalist. Everyone knows that he takes money to do stories. And about him copying my tweets, this is not the first time he has done it. Every time I write something, he will immediately write the same thing with a small twist. If I sneeze, he has to sneeze. If I cough, he too has to cough. It’s such a sick thing that every tweet or small thing that I write is copied by him.” When asked whether he has tried talking to Taran about it, Komal said, “Absolutely not. I am not at all in touch with him. You may be surprised to know that we are first cousins. My father and his father were brothers and the best of friends too. His father used to write for ‘Trade Guide’ magazine under the pen name ‘Adarsh’ and Taran adopted the same. In fact, his father used to tell him that ‘Tu Komal jaisa ban.’ Unfortunately, it’s really bad to see him do what he is doing now. This blatant copying is nothing but unscrupulous behavior on his part. It’s horrible journalism. He is not at all original.” Needless to say, this revelation and accusation of plagiarism by Komal left us stunned. Keeping in mind the fair principles of journalism, we dialed up Taran to get his side of the story. When asked to reply on Komal’s accusation of plagiarism, Taran politely declined from commenting anything on the issue. “No comments,” said Taran. Meanwhile, here is the tweet from Taran dated November 2nd which created the entire brouhaha: taran adarsh ?@taran_adarsh2 Nov #Krrish3 has opened to a fab response in Pakistan. Fri biz: PKR 95 lacs [? 54.88 lacs]. Original or copied, we won’t pass any judgment on it. We will leave our readers to decide.
