Dissing a woman who speaks her mind has been the norm in Bollywood. That’s why we are not shocked by the hot details being revealed by Yasser Usman's new book 'Rekha: The Untold Story'. It follows the diva’s life in Bollywood, a trajectory that’s more or less self-written by the actress herself.

The lovechild of Tamil superstar Gemini Ganeshan went from strength to strength to reach staggering success and put behind her bitter marriages, break-ups and public butchering of her image. But she came out of it all. Well, that’s what makes her Rekha.

According to the biography, the actress was made to kiss her co-actor Biswajeet in her maiden venture Anjana Safar. All of fourteen, the frightened actress apparently didn’t consent to the kiss and was not even informed about it before the shoot, the writer states in his new book.

There’s also an extract on her supposed marriage with Vinod Mehra, which was doomed right from the beginning. Apparently, his mother abused and literally hit his new bride Rekha, who left the house in tears.

Despite such a trying time in her personal life, the actress continued to give hits and after hits, which was also said to be an impossible task for her…due to the various controversies she was surrounded by. One of them being her rumoured affair with Amitabh Bachchan.

Another chapter in the book adds that during Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s wedding, Rekha walked in sporting sindoor and bright, red bindi, the typical ornaments of a new bride. It’s also said that Jaya Bachchan broke down at the sight of Rekha as Amitabh was speculated to be married to Rekha. Phew.

But the most shocking incident that the book narrates is from the sultry actress’ documented marriage to businessman Mukesh Aggarwal. While Rekha took the first step with her obsessed fan, she wasn’t aware of his clinical depression.

When he took his life merely seven months into the marriage, media and her co-stars took her apart ruthlessly.

Subash Ghai said, "Rekha has put such a blot on the face of the film industry that it'll be difficult to wash it away easily. I think after this any respectable family will think twice before accepting any actress as their bahoo.It's going to be tough even professionally for her. No conscientious director will work with her ever again. How will the audience accept her as Bharat ki nari or insaf ki devi?"

Even Anupam Kher offered, "She's become the national vamp. Professionally and personally, I think it's curtains for her. I mean I don't know how will I react to her if I come face to face with her."
