MUMBAI: The National Handloom Day is observed annually on 7th August. It is celebrated to Honour Handloom Weavers, Generate Awareness and mark the 1905 Swadesh Movement.

From Benarasi silk to Kanjeevaram sarees, there's a lot of variety in handloom fabrics and their tenacity varies with different processes. Many Bollywood beauties including Rekha, Vidya Bala, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor amongst others sported such sarees gracefully.
