MUMBAI: If you are a loyal fan of Hollywood then you are in for a ride. Today, the buzz is about biggies like Al Pacino, Brad Pitt, and Amanda Seyfried to name a few. Take a look!

Seyfried joins Bacon-starrer 'You Should Have Left'

Actress Amanda Seyfried is on board to portray the spouse of actor Kevin Bacon’s character in You Should Have Left.

David Koepp will direct from his own script for Blumhouse Productions. The company is planning to start shooting later this year, reports variety.com.

The project is based on Daniel Kehlmann's 2017 novel by the same name, which is based on a screenwriter in a remote house in the Alps working on a sequel to his hit film along with his younger wife and a six-year-old. The writer begins to lose his bearings thanks to unexplained occurrences.

Al Pacino joins Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

Veteran actor Al Pacino is on board for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Pacino has joined actors Dakota Fanning, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, for the project, reportshollywoodreporter.com.

Set in Los Angeles in 1969, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood focuses on a washed-up actor (Pitt) from a Western TV series and his stunt double (DiCaprio) struggling to survive at the end of the 1960s. Coincidentally, Pitt's character, Rick Dalton, lives right next door to Tate, the starlet who was one of the victims in the Charles Manson murders.

Tarantino wrote and will also produce Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is set to release in 2019.

Proud of changes I'm seeing in this industry: George Clooney

Actor George Clooney, who made his acting debut on television in 1978 and is a recipient of three Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards, says he is proud of the changes he is seeing in Hollywood.

The actor was honoured with the American Film Institute's AFI Life Achievement Award on 8 June, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

During his acceptance speech, he said, "I love being a part of this industry. I'm very proud of the changes I'm seeing in this industry. They're much overdue."

He also thanked his parents, who were present, calling them "two of the most ethical people I know. Their example was always due north".

Clooney, 57, also spoke warmly of his wife Amal.

"I thought you couldn't have it all. I thought if you had a successful career you couldn't have one great love and then I met Amal."

He also thanked everyone who took the time to toast (and roast) him throughout the evening.

Now we're all close: Hathaway on 'Ocean's 8' cast

Actress Anne Hathaway says the entire cast of the upcoming film Ocean's 8 has grown close to each other.

The film has an ensemble cast including Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson and Helena Bonham Carter.

"I'd met a couple of them before but I wasn't close with anybody. Now we're all close," Hathaway said on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", reports dailymail.co.uk.

"It just was this huge, huge love fest, which is great, cause there's this terrible rumour out there that women can't get along. And man, did we just murder that rumour. We just loved each other so much and it was so special," she added.

Hathaway said that the support she received from her colleagues was "really significant" as it was her first appearance in a film after giving birth to her now two-year-old son Jonathan in April 2016.

"After I had my son, the weight was really slow to come off and I was a different size than I normally am. And the director Gary Ross told me, 'That's great, we have eight women in this movie and need to have as many body types as we can'," she said.

Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali enter 'Spider-Man...' universe

Actors Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali and Lily Tomlin have lent their voices to animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse.

Sony Pictures launched the first trailer for the animated adaptation on Wednesday, and confirmed the names of the voice cast, reports variety.com.

In addition to Miles Morales as Spider-Man, Jake Johnson is joining the cast as Morales' reluctant mentor, Peter Parker, with Liev Schreiber playing the larger-than-life crime lord Kingpin; Steinfeld playing the spunky, free-spirited Spider-Gwen; Ali as Morales' influential uncle Aaron; Brian Tyree Henry playing Morales' father Jefferson; Luna Lauren Velez as Morales' mother Rio; and Tomlin as Aunt May.

Producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller said, "We are lucky to have such an amazing cast of funny, genuine creative souls to populate the Spider-verse. They have generous minds and great big hearts. And they have very talented throats, which is where their delightful voices come from.

"We can't wait for the world to see Miles Morales on the big screen. He's such a fun and exciting new character, and telling his story through a revolutionary visual style makes for a totally fresh cinematic experience that, if we may say so, is freaking amazing."

Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman are directing the film. It is produced, in association with Marvel, by Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Lord, Miller, and Christina Steinberg.

Ed Sheeran's former label service hunting for Indian talent

Ditto Music, a global music distribution and record label services company that worked with Grammy Award-winning singers Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith in the early stages of their careers, is now looking forward to promote Indian independent artistes.

The company, started by Lee Parsons and his brother Matt over a decade ago, distributes, promotes and supports over 150,000 independent artistes. It has offices across Europe, Australia, Asia, North and Latin America.

One of the reasons why they wanted so many offices was because they wanted to promote their artistes, who were popular in England, outside the UK as well.

"We had an artiste called Dave who was nominated for a Brit award. Having global offices meant that we could push him in the US or Brazil and open up new territories...and being in India, is so important.

"Apart from Bollywood, there is so much in India. You got rock music, hip-hop and more," Lee Parsons, founder and Global CEO, Ditto Music, told over the phone during his visit to Mumbai.

"I grew up in Birmingham, which had an Indian community. I used to record in a studio where Zeus (artiste with roots in India) used to be there all the time. At that time, he had sold about 20 million CDs in India. I was also managed by a guy who managed Apache Indian," added Lee, who was ditched by record labels when he wanted to release his own music.

The India/South Asia office started in October 2017, headed by Gautam Sarkar. Now, they are looking for artistes.

"We are thinking of running a search for artistes so that we can pick artistes here and push them globally. We will probably be looking to do that in September," he said.

Prince's Estate announces 'Piano & a Microphone 1983' album

On late musician Princes 60th birth anniversary on 7 June, his estate announced that it will release the first full album titled "Piano & a Microphone 1983" since the deluxe edition of "Purple Rain" last year.

It is a collection of solo songs recorded at home by the singer.

The estate released the first song from the album, a cover of the spiritual song "Mary don't you weep", which will be featured during the end credits of Spike Lee's "BlacKkKlansman" film, which will be released in August, reports variety.com.

The album features versions of "Purple rain" and "17 days".

While the album shares a title with Prince's final concert tour, the album pre-dates it by some 33 years.

Broken Brass Ensemble hopes to get amazed in India

Broken Brass Ensemble will be performing in India for the first time and they are looking forward to take time out to explore the country and relish some 'desi' delicacies, says a member of the traditional Dutch brass brand.

Broken Brass Ensemble, with origins in the Netherlands, will perform in Bengaluru on Saturday through their association with Johnnie Walker The Journey.

"We have no fixed itinerary really. We want to explore the city of Bengaluru, we want to eat Indian food, drink Indian beers, meet everybody at the show, see the sights, walk around the town and see all the special places. We want to do as much as possible while we're there," Nick Feenstra told IANS via email.

"We're aware of Indian music and the variety of it, and there is so much to listen to. With this trip coming we're listening to Indian music more of course," Feenstra added.

The eight-member Broken Brass Ensemble is known for injecting New Orleans brass with a fusion of hip-hop, funk, soul, dance and jazz. It is made up of Joel Botma (trumpet), Luc Hudepohl (trumpet), Arjen Attema (trombone), Sjors Dijkstra (trombone), Feenstra (saxophone), Rick Hulsebosch (saxophone), Hendrik Baarda (sousaphone) and Pieterklaas de Groot (drums).

Recalling their origins, Feenstra said, "When we started out we definitely had to prove to people that brass music deserves a place on the festivals.
