4 May 2014 was the day when God himself blessed Twitter by announcing his debut on the microblogging site. India’s greatest ever movie phenomenon, His Holiness Rajinikanth joined Twitter just days before the release of his anime movie, Kochadaiiyaan.

And the effect was there for all to see. Within the first 24 hours, the followers list of swelled to a mind-boggling 200,000 followers in the first 24 hours which has today crossed over 1.1 million.

Clearly Rajini has fans both off and on Twitter.
