Requesting President Pranab Mukherjee to take time off from his busy schedule, Rituparna Sengupta had arranged the press show of her recent Bengali film Muktodhara at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Rituparna, who knows the President because of their Kolkata connection, had put in a request for a special show for him. The actress was on cloud nine when he took time off for the screening . The actress says, "The President told me that he does not watch films. But I was keen that he see Muktodhara. He had promised that whenever he had time off, a screening could be held for him at Rashtrapati Bhavan. So recently when he gave the green signal, we had a show for him." Rituparna adds, "The President was impressed with the strong social message as well as with the performances. He told me he was particularly impressed with the storyline. He also felt that I had put in a stellar performance in my role as the wife of the public prosecutor. He even thanked for showing him a good film." Directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, the film is set in a correctional cell and takes on the subject of reforming convicts. The award-winning Bengali film actress Rituparna has not been as lucky in her B-Town outings. She is best remembered for her role in Chandan Arora's Main, Meri Patni Aur Who and Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.
