Udta Punjab

Seems like controversy has find a permanent abode in Udta Punjab.

The Shahid Kapoor starrer that is to release this Friday, has been making headlines for quite some time now.

With the Censor Board thwarting its fury over the film that projects the rising drug issue in Punjab, it has now hit another roadblock.

Citing it to be an attempt of sabotaging it, major portions of the film has already been leaked online. An entertainment portal carried the news with snapshots of the videos.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is yet to submit the certificate to Udta Punjab producers Ekta Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. It is scheduled for today evening.

But shockingly, the leaked copy bears the ‘For Censor’ stamp, which indicates that it’s the same copy that’s with the CBFC.

With major portion of the film doing rounds in the internet, makers are believeing it to be a ploy to damage the film.

CBFC had demanded close to 89 cuts in the film. With Bombay High Court over ruling the same, they agreed for a single cut.

Interestingly, the leaked video even has the ‘single’ scene of Shahid Kapoor’s character, Tommy urinating on the audience that was directed to be edited by Bombay HC.

Let’s see what’s store in for Udta Punjab next!
