MUMBAI: There is a buzz in the industry that after wrapping up Bharat and the third installment of the Dabangg franchise, Salman Khan is all set to team up with Rohit Shetty. The first collaboration will be an action-packed cop drama, which is slated to go on floors by the year-end.

The movie is still untitled and will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The team is brainstorming on multiple ideas. Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times and not just discussed the possibilities of making a movie with Salman in the lead but also the content.

Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off of the character of Devi Lal Singh AKA Devil from the movie Kick, which was Sajid’s successful directorial debut.

The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the plan is successful, then Rohit Shetty’s will be directing the sequel of Kick. The movie is likely to release in the second half of 2020, during Christmas.

Before starting this project, Rohit will finish the shooting of Sooryavanshi, which will be his first collaboration with Khiladi Akshay Kumar and will also have Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in a special appearance. The shooting will start in June and wrap up in August in a start-to-finish schedule.

But one thing is for sure. Salman and Rohit’s first film together will be a huge success, as a combination of a mass actor and a mass director can break all box office records. Well, now, one has to wait for a confirmation from either the production house or the director.

This movie will be a treat for all Salman Khan fans.
