Sony’s recently launched Aahat is picking up with every passing week. The show has been fetching great numbers and from what we hear, children form a major chunk of the viewership. Aahat was recently brought back on the channel by its producer B P Singh as it was observed that the repeat telecasts of some of its old episodes had augured well for the channel. B P Singh says, “I am overwhelmed that Aahat has received a very good response. We were sure the show would do well as it had a loyal fan base which was waiting for its comeback. This time we have executed the show on a massive scale.” The show originally named Sehmi Sehmi Si Raatein was renamed Aahat-The all new series because the channel feared that changing the name would not be very useful for the show. Singh adds, “The channel wanted to call it Aahat-The all new series. It was a ractical decision and now when I look back, I guess I was wrong to have first decided to call it Sehmi Sehmi Si Raatein. People connect with ‘Aahat’ better.” The show airs at 11pm every Friday and Saturday. Last week the show received the TRPs of 2.66, which is good news for the channel. Singh concludes, “We have purposely slated the show for 11pm on weekends so that only adults watch the show. But if kids are watching and enjoying the show this late at night, it is a big compliment for us”.
