It's time for Baa Bahoo aur Baby to bid adieu

After its bull run in the season one when Hats Off launched the second season of Baa Bahoo aur Baby viewer expectation was high. Unfortunately the ratings dropped and one of the reasons this can be attributed to is the weekend positioning of the show. It is now heard that post IPL the show will come to a close.

Informs our source, “The show isn’t faring as per expectations and the TRPs are continuously dipping. Baa Bahoo aur Baby was apparently considered to be a big ticket show which was launched with its second season in the hope that it would strengthen the position of the channel in the weekend viewership. But the show hasn’t been doing well and since most award functions and other events air during weekends it further damages the show. The show might wrap up post IPL. The shoot of the show will conclude sometime in the last week of February.”

“The second season of the show was originally planned as a daily and so the creative unit had worked accordingly on the script but the channel changed its strategy at the last minute and the show was placed in the weekend slot. The show focused on the love track of Baby and Birju but TRPs kept plummeting once the focus shifted from the two leads to the other members of the family. It’s unfortunate that the show is concluding but as they say all good things come to an end. The show would stick to its value and quality and thus Hats Off has planned a positive and logical end to it.”

Benaf Dadachandji, protagonist of the show, rubbished the rumour and said, “Nothing has been informed to us officially. I don’t think the show is winding up and it might run even after IPL.”

Amit Varma aka Birju said, “I am not shooting for the show currently so I would have no clue. Please speak to the production house.”

We sent a text message to producer J D Majethia for a confirmation but he didn’t revert.

I was a die hard fan of Season 1,as this serial was based on family values long forgotten. The characters were also so close to heart, with a rollercoaster of emotions in every episode.Unfortunately season 2 bifercated into just love stories of the younger generation which is being pulled as an elastic band into every other episode.Season 1 had love stories too but with a different flavour and short and sweet.I live all the way in Canada and hope to join the Television industry on my return this year and it would be an honour to work in such a clean and crative Production house.Hats off to this serial which started off with a bang but when the going is good it is human nature to try and change it,unfortunately. But nevertheless one of the best serials ever to be telecast, which has it's competition in 'Sukh by chance',which is also a product of the same great production house.Hats off to Hats off!!!
