Satish Kaushik to produce and act in SAB show

Bollywood producer-director Satish Kaushik is set to resume his innings on television with a weekly sitcom on SAB TV. Kaushik is not only producing it but he himself is playing the lead in this show.

Confirming the news, SAB business head Anooj Kapoor says, “Satish Kaushik is producing a weekly show for us. He himself is playing the lead in it. I can’t divulge anymore details.”

The buzz goes that the show is loosely based on legendary Arabic humourist Mulla Nasiruddin. However, Kapoor has totally rubbished this theory, “The show has absolutely no bearing to Mulla Nasiruddin.”

Meanwhile, a source from the production informs, “The show isn’t based on any Islamic figure. It’s basically a story of a retired man and how he solves other’s problems but keeps creating problems for himself and his family. We haven’t decided on the title yet. The casting is currently on and we expect the show to go on air soon.”

Kaushik’s Karolbagh Films & Entertainment Pvt Ltd had earlier produced shows such as Colgate top 10, O Maria muhje chaand chahiye. Actor Anupam Kher is the company’s co-owner.
