Shyam will not turn negative: Vikrant Massey

When Vikrant Massey, better known as Shyam from Balika Vadhu started working in the show, he never dreamt that his character would become so popular. He was sceptical, unsure and also nervous about getting a firm foothold in the industry with this character. But, it is a completely different picture today. Not only is he much more confident about himself, he is also (in his own words) one of the happiest guys on earth!

"I must admit that I never expected my character to be so popular. When I was first offered this role, Balika Vadhu was already the number one show. To get an entry there was like a dream come true. I was very nervous and used to tell myself if the makers of this show have selected me that means there is something in me. But I continued to have butterflies in my stomach before shoots. It has been close to three months and I have been getting a lot of positive feedback from all viewers of the show. So, I am a bit more confident now," says a frank Vikrant during a tete a tete with TellyChakkar."It has been a fantastic learning experience for me working with experienced actors in the show," says the actor. Of late there have been rumours on his character taking a sudden turn and developing villainous traits. Is it true? Vikrant rubbishes all such rumours and says, "I am not sure who is spreading such rumours, but let me assure you that there will not be any changes to my character. I will be the same Shyam that all of you like today." But he also accepts that roles are subject to change based on audience reaction."Nothing like that is planned for my character though," concludes Vikrant.
