Why Hussain refused Bhaskar Bharti

Though it is popular, DJ’s Bhaskar Bharti has failed to register the required numbers. Cynics have argued that perhaps the show hasn’t got the right protagonist. Eijaz Khan in particular is said to be misfit for the character of Bhaskar. Well, we’ve learnt that Khan wasn’t the preferred choice as the producer had first zeroed in on Hussain Kuwajerwala to play Bhaskar. A source that is closely associated with the show says, “Yes, it’s true that Hussain was our first choice to play Bhaskar. He had initially agreed to do the show but a few days later he turned it down citing lack of dates.” Confirming the news, Hussain says, “It’s true that I was offered Bhaskar Bharti. I liked the story and was keen on doing it but I had to turn it down because of other commitments. Though the role was a cameo the producers told me that later on I would be required to give more dates. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible for me to commit for future dates so I had to refuse the offer. I’ll start shooting for my film soon.”
