Why Neha changed her name to Nia Sharma?

Nia Sharma is super famous. She has gained awesome popularity via her acting dexterity in Star Plus' Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain. But many are not aware of the fact that her real name is not Nia, but Neha Sharma.

Yes, you heard it right (hope she doesn’t kill me for this, wink, wink).

Now, here’s the story. When Neha was about to join the television industry, that was the time when Facebook was gaining in popularity. So, she named her profile as Nia, instead of Neha.

“Neha is a very common name but I am someone who is very different. I stand out in a crowd of 200 people. So I thought to call myself Nia. It is different like I am. And only my mom and you know about it,” said Nia.

Hmm…she is very right. She further added, “Though I have not changed my name officially, but the world knows me as Nia. I have always been Nia and will always be Nia.”
