Will Nach Baliye happen this season?

The last season of Nach Baliye failed. The show which began on a good note with exciting faces began to slip. In fact the last season was such a dampener that after the initial few episodes the TRPs fell so deep that despite the best efforts nothing could salvage the show. And now that the show has not brought in the ratings it is doubtful whether viewers will see the next season. Ofcourse apart from the dismal TRPs there are various others reasons that could ring the death knell for Nach Baliye. The first amongst many could be the dearth of celebrity couples in the television industry. The show has always been under the scanner for roping in couples who fake it. And no sooner is the show over the couple goes their separate ways. Amita Chandekar – Karan Patel and Megha Gupta – Naman Shaw are cases in point. In fact Karan even went on to say that the duo was never a couple which put a question mark on the show’s credibility. Now the latest buzz is that Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal is keen on producing the next season of Nach Baliye. The actor who judged the last season was so impressed with the show that he is now interested in coming on board as a producer. But the only hitch is that if Arjun gets on-board then one would expect him to bring in Bollywood couples. Moreover now that almost all television couples have already been featured on the show the channel and production house will have to rope in couples from the big screen. Throwing some light on the issue a source informs, “There is a serious question on the future of Nach Baliye season 5. The first three seasons got overwhelming TRPs but the last season was quite a dampener. Secondly, the TV industry doesn’t have any more popular couples left who can be brought to the show. Arjun Rampal definitely liked the concept and was thrilled when he adjudicated the show’s last season along with Farah Khan and Karisma Kapoor. He even went on to say that given a chance he would like to produce a show like Nach Baliye. But the going wouldn’t be all that easy and smooth. He will have to rope in popular Bollywood couples on the show. These B-town faces generally aren’t too keen on doing television and the producers could just manage to get one forlorn actor like Shakti Kapoor. So it would be a Herculean task to get well known silver-screen couples. Well if this is not it then the biggest problem is that during the current phase when the entire country is badly hit by recession one would need to pump in a lot of money to pay these celeb couples.” The last season of the show commenced in October and concluded on 1 February. Going by this logic its time for the next season. And all eyes are now on Star, Rampal and a production house willing to take the risk.
