Casting gone right for Varun Khandelwal

Varun Khandelwal who is playing a baddie in Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai came down to Mumbai to become an actor but acting happened to him much later as he was waiting for a right break. In the meanwhile, the actor took to casting faces in some popular shows like Bhabhi and Special Squad . He was associated with UTV and had done casting for the production house.

When contacted, Varun said, “When I came to Mumbai I came with a dream of becoming an actor but as I was waiting for a good break I started working with UTV when they offered me the job I knew I would be exposed to the TV industry and it was a neat job as I was handling 14 shows and got to learn a lot about the TV industry. I was handling the entire Hungama channel, Meher, Special Squad, Bhabhi and Bombay Talking.”

Further he adds, “I had tested a lot of people who are now a part in the big league and were freshers then. To name some I had cast actors like Harshad Chopra, Vinny Arora , Bhanujeet Sudan, Gaurav Khanna , Jay Soni , Rajat Tokas and Tanishtaa Chaterjee who is the lead of Road movie. The last project I did casting for was for a Holland Film called Zoop in India. ”

“As I was always passionate about acting I went for the audition of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and got selected and that is how I started my acting career. What better break I could have expected than Balaji after that I did a cameo in Doli Saja Ke and while I was doing Aathvan Vachan I got an offer for Jyoti.”

He signs off saying, “I enjoy acting as I always wanted to do that and that’s what got me to Mumbai.”
