Taarak... cast makes a fashion statement

In a first of its kind, the cast of SAB show Taarak Mehta ka ooltah chashmah will be seen donning western clothes. The occasion is Babita’s (Moonmoon Dutta) birthday. The dress code for the evening is western attire and so our traditional residents of Gokuldham society will be in tuxedos and gowns.

The lead pair Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) and Dayaben (Disha Wakani) haven’t received the invite, but the duo will gatecrash into Babita’s party.

Her fans are only used to seeing her in saris, so how was it wearing a western outfit?

“For near 25 days in a month, I’m dressed in a sari. So, it feels nice to have a different look. Besides, it was great to see everyone dressed in suits and gowns. Moon was looking like Madhuri Dixit. We didn’t feel like this was part of any shoot but it was a real party like atmosphere. All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves,” said Wakani.

Producer Asit Modi adds, “For close to a year, our audience has been used to seeing the characters in the same look. So, we though why not give a different look to our characters. Importantly, I’m happy that all my actors enjoyed it.”
