Basera may have gone off air, but Pallavi is busy setting up another Basera, her dream house

Pallavi Subhash, last seen as Ketki Sanghvi in Basera is taking it easy these days. After working in daily soaps for a few years, she is enjoying her well-deserved break. And something equally creative is keeping her busy ever since Basera went off air. Her new home is making her smile more these days. "I recently bought a flat in the western suburbs and want to do it up. Buying the flat is a dream come true and I want it to look just like my dream. I am devoting my entire time doing the interiors."

A beaming Pallavi just cannot stop talking about her new proud possession, "When it comes to doing up your house, you have to personally supervise everything. More so for someone like me who is very fussy, particular and choosy about every little thing. And my dream house is very big and important to me right now!"

But is she off work completely? "Not really! I am doing a few commercials. Besides keeping me occupied, they also offer good money and I won't deny commercials are quick money," she says candidly. What about television serials? Is anything in the offing? "There are some offers, but I am yet to decide. I am looking for a role which I have not done before. I do not want to play similar roles and risk being typecast," she says.

So what went wrong with Basera? "I think the casting was not right. The viewers could not relate the cast to the story. And if one cannot do that you lose faith in the story and then there is no way a serial can be successful. It is sad what happened to Basera, but I guess that is a lesson for all of us," she reasons.
