Some emotions are best conveyed through expressions alone. Ask Raakhi Verma who plays Rashmi in Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam. Recently, she shot for a pre- marriage sequence.
It happened twice during the shoot, that most of the female actors were moved by the scene and had to take a break for some time. Says Rashmi, "Recently, when I shot for a ritual I started crying. It is happening with most of my co-actresses on the sets. My sister got married recently so I kept remembering her wedding. It was not an inter-caste marriage but most of the times a girl's parents have to face many things. So I kept thinking about it and got emotional."
The other actresses like Nupur Alankar and others too could not control their emotions. "When Madhav's parents humiliated my on- screen parents, the atmosphere was so thick with emotions that everyone was in tears. I have learnt it from my on-screen parents on how to do these scenes with conviction. Just before the shot, I sit in a corner and get into the mood. And it's working as my co-actors and friends are complimenting me for expressing well."
Initially it would take Raakhi four hours to prepare for such scenes. "Now I have learnt the technique and Indraneel who plays my father has taught me to switch on and off in no time. I tend to get very emotional about certain scenes. My family also would often cry whenever they saw me on screen and now they too have realized it is not real."
Currently Raakhi's character is getting married in the show with Madhav, so is she ready for more emotional drama? "I have to do it, if it is required."
Meanwhile, since Madhav and Rashmi's track has been well received by viewers, it is said they will stay longer in the show.
