At the launch of their second silent comedy, Malegaon Ka Chintu, <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/sab-claims-show-six-comedies-daily-and-thats-not-funny>SAB</a> head Anooj Kapoor and director Shaikh Nasir had to fend a persistent query from the media which was: “Is the role of Chintu, similar to the character sketch of Charlie Chaplin and Mr Bean, which are the benchmarks in silent comedy?”

SAB claims to show six comedies daily and that's not funny

SAB TV has found more reasons to smile. The channel which claims to be the only one in the world to screen six comedy shows daily, grew by 300 per cent since it was taken over by Sony. According to SAB Business Head Anooj Kapoor, the channel achieved a 28 per cent growth in TRP and now has a sustained readership.

SAB neck to neck with Imagine

The competition among TV channels is getting stiffer by the day. As per the latest TAM data for the week gone by, SAB the comedy channel starts seems to have laughed its way as it brushes shoulders with NDTV Imagine. Sample this: SAB has achieved 85 GRPs, with Imagine at 86. SAB has five slots in the top 100 and Imagine has none.
