Twelfth Indian Telly Awards

The day of reckoning is here!! The day when the red carpet will be laid to greet the ‘Who’s who’ of the television industry at The Twelfth Indian Telly Awards!! Like always, the glitz and glamour of the event welcomes one and all to this happy and memorable occasion.

Earlier in the day, we wrote about reality shows that have been nominated at the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards. Now it’s time for the singing reality shows. As we all know, reality shows are a kind of platform for most of the commoners to enter in the big world of entertainment. nd when we talk about singing reality shows, they open avenues for one to enter playback singing. In fact, singing reality shows have been successful in the past for having found some lovely singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Abhijeet Sawant, Javed Ali and a lot others.

Most of India’s population comprises of children under the age of fourteen. We therefore have an array of kids’ programmes on our TV channels. From babysitting children to imparting education and simultaneously entertaining them; TV shows offer quite a package to tiny tots and their parents. The Twelfth Indian Telly Awards have nominated five shows in the category of Best Kid’s Programme.

There weren’t many shows for the youngsters to watch on Indian television earlier, but, it’s only with the initiative of channels like Channel V, MTV and Bindaas, it has been possible of late. Hence today, the youth too have something to watch on the prime time slot and have a reason to snatch the TV remote from their saas bahu saga crazy mommies (wink). The last name in the list for the category of The Best Actress in a Lead Role in the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards is none other than the little bundle of talent, Avika Gor. She might play the grown up character of Roli in Colors’ <em>Sasural Simar Ka</em> (Rashmi Sharma Telefilms), but she is very young in real life (in her teens). Avika, who climbed to great heights of popularity via <em>Balika Vadhu</em>, later displayed her acting prowess again in <em>Sasural Simar Ka</em>. She has been nominated for her role in the above show.

Yes, the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards is all set to present an award to one of the best ‘Sitcom/Comedy Programmes’. Yes, now we are coming to the tail end of the nominations for the Best Actress in a Lead Role at the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards, and next on the list is very talented and veteran actress Sakshi Tanwar. Over the years, Sakshi has been entertaining TV lovers and she has been nominated this year for her impeccable portrayal of Priya in Sony TV’s <em>Bade Achhe Lagte Hain</em> (Balaji Telefilms). Her chemistry with Ram Kapoor in the show is extremely charming. We texted Sakshi to get her reaction on her nomination but she remained out of reach.
