India is a country where “surnames” hold special significance because it hints about one’s background.
But director Pavel, who is debuting with “Babar Naam Gandhiji” starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Koushik Sen, believes surnames are division creators.
Addressing a press conference in Kolkata, the young director opined, “I hate surnames because they create division among the people.”
When asked about his surname, Pavel refrained from revealing it and said, “Look, you will eventually get to know about my surname, but right now let it be.”
It seems the director is in a mission to spread awareness about this “surname” issue.
Pavel’s debut movie, Babar Naam Gandhiji, which speaks of the dreams and aspirations of a child, will see the light of the day on 2nd October.
