Even after Sunil Grover aka Gutthi moving out of the show, the ratings of Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors have been soaring day-by-day. Despite this fact, the loyal fans of Sunil Grover aka Gutthi were eagerly waiting to see him making a comeback in MAD in India on Star Plus. They were both pleased and surprised when their favorite actor made a head-start in the show as an eccentric Punjabi girl Chutki. Now that we have two shows of the same format of stand-up comedy, there seems to be a lot of comparisons between the two. In our inquisitiveness, we at Tellychakkar.com decided to speak to some actors and asked them about their opinions as to which show will outdo the other and will manage to strike the right chords with the audience. Excerpts: Shilpa Anand: Having watched Comedy Nights with Kapil, I feel Kapil Sharma is truly hilarious in every sense. I watch comedy shows as it is a stress buster and I feel both the shows are good. Pratyusha Banerjee: I am very excited to watch the upcoming episodes of MAD in India as people have loved watching Sunil Grover essay the role of Guthi in Comedy Nights With Kapil and it was a real treat to the eyes. With Sunil Grover heading a team of artistes like Manish Paul, I am pretty sure that his show will create quite a buzz. Shrenu Parikh: With the amount of expectations that people have in Sunil Grover’s show, it is going to be difficult for him to pull in the audience but Sunil is an extremely talented person and am sure that he will rock. Aditya Redij: To tell you frankly, the comparison being done here is not fair. While Comedy Nights With Kapil is already a success, MAD in India has recently been launched. I think we should all give Sunil Grover a fair chance to showcase his skills and not draw comparisons as he is also an extremely talented actor and a nice person. Akshay Dogra: I do not feel that there should be any competition as Sunil Grover is a brilliant comic artiste. I have loved him from the time he has been on Radio as Sud and is a very good character sketch artiste. Kapil Sharma has a different flair and so does Sunil hence I do not think there is need for comparison as both of them will be able to sustain themselves in an industry which has place for so much more talent. Additi Gupta: I watched the first episode of MAD in India but am still in awe of Kapil Sharma. I still find Comedy Nights with Kapil better than this Sunil Grover show as I believe in the old idiom that old is gold. However when Comedy Nights with Kapil was launched, it was the only show with this kind of a stand-up format but now with this show on the scene, I feel both the shows have to be at their best Arjun Bijlani: I feel people have loved Sunil Grover as Gutthi as much as Kapil Sharma as Kapil on Comedy Nights Kapil. I am yet not sure if Sunil will be able to create the same kind of buzz as Kapil, but am sure that he will definitely be able to charm the audiences. I feel that Kapil has become more of a brand and if Sunil manages to keep the audience entertained, we will soon see him as a brand too. Sumit Vats: Sunil Grover portrayed the character of Gutthi really well and was well acclaimed for it. These days you can never judge as to what will click and what will not. While Comedy Nights With Kapil is already a hit, MAD in India may reach greater heights and become a super hit. With this I would like to wish Sunil Grover all the best in his new venture.
