The festival of Diwali is here...

And as a mark of its beginning, people are celebrating Dhanteras today.

The festival is considered an auspicious occasion that most people celebrate by buying something special and valuable so that they have a prosperous year.

Ravi Dubey: This Dhanteras, I will buy gold coins. Goddess Laxmi has already blessed me with enough, so I don’t want to be greedy. Her blessings are more than enough for me! 

Laksh: Last year, I bought some gold as the markets were on a high and it was the best to time invest. This time too, I’m planning to buy a gold coin. I pray that Goddess Laxmi's blessings are always there with me and my dear ones. She has blessed me in abundance and I pray she continues doing so.

Asmita Sood: Since I have started earning, I have always bought gold and silver coin on Dhanteras until last year. But this year, I plan to buy gold jewelry for myself instead. I want Laxhmi ji to never leave my house!

Jasmin Bhasin: I'll be buying gold coins on Dhanteras. It is considered very auspicious to buy metal on this day. Also, since I have always seen my parents doing it, I also follow it as our family’s tradition.

Divyanka Tripathi: I will be buying a gold coin this dhanteras, I think that's the best way to invest money and that's how I would be doing it. This is my first dhanteras post marriage so it's more special.

Amruta Khanvilkar: It's always good to buy gold on this auspicious day. From the time I started earning, I have always bought at least a small piece on dhanteras and touch wood till today have continued to do so. Gold is the safest investment and makes one feel rich.

Arjun Bijlani: On this auspicious day, I plan not only to buy some gold but yes I am going to make this day auspicious for the poor too as I am going to go to an orphanage and feed them with scrumptious food.

Ssharaad Malhotra: Like every year this year too I'm looking forward to buying something for the house. Last year I bought some gold as markets were on a high and it was the best to time invest. This year I would buy a silver chain as I don’t have any.

Vivian Dsena: I would buy gold biscuits this Dhanteras. Gold is considered lucky too. Gold gives me positive feeling too.
