TV actors and their deadly sins

Sin may be defined as any act regarded as such a transgression, especially a willful or deliberate violation of some religious or moral principle. It is believed by theologists that it is a human being’s natural instinct to sin as the flesh is weak. Though we may want to say no to the temptation of doing something bad, our body may be unable to resist it. The ‘flesh’ in this case refers to the skin, physical body and mind. Even if we do not wish to admit it, we are sinning 24 X 7. The Seven Deadly Sins also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins have been used since the early Christian times to educate and instruct Christians concerning the fallen man’s inkling to sin. The aforesaid sins are wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. This concept of sin prevails in other faiths too. Pride is considered in Christian theology as the sin from which all other sins arise as vanity caused the rebellion by Lucifer in heaven. Envy is the craving for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Gluttony is the desire to consume far more that what is necessary. Lust is an undue craving for pleasures of the body. Anger is a powerful feeling of displeasure or hostility. Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, thereby ignoring spiritual commitments and sloth is shirking physical or spiritual work. According to The Picture Book of Devils, Demons and Witchcraft, by Ernst and Johanna Lehner the Hellish punishment for these ominous sins are as follows- proud people are to be broken on the wheel, the envious are to be submerged in freezing water, hot tempered humans are to be dismembered alive, the slothful are to be thrown in pits with venomous snakes, the greedy will be roasted alive in cauldrons of boiling oil, gluttons will be made to swallow rats, toads and snakes and the lustful will be smothered in fire and brimstone. The sinister demons Lucifer (Satan’s name before he was cast out of heaven), Mammon (the ominous deity of material wealth and greed), Asmodeus (the demon of lust who is responsible for distorting people's carnal desires), Leviathan (a coiled sea monster), Beelzebub (another name for the Devil), Amon (who appears as a wolf with a serpent's tail who can breathe fire, or as a man with dog's teeth in a head like a raven, or as a raven-headed man who can tell of all things past and future) and Belphegor (who seduces people by suggesting to them ingenious inventions that will make them rich) are associated with pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony and sloth respectively. To err is human. So it may not be too bad to feel proud after achieving a noteworthy career milestone, to dream of buying a spacious 4 BHK sea facing apartment when maybe a humble 1 BHK is enough for you, to idle for a few months like the lazy coco coconut tree after working 24 X 7 for years in a long running TV show, to feel your heart flutter after seeing a good looking person of the opposite gender, lose your temper occasionally when people are continuing to be difficult, at times to eat two delicious ice creams when one was more than enough or to envy your neighbour’s TV set (remember the Onida television advertisement?). We asked your favourite TV stars in good humour which of the Seven Deadly Sins they possessed the most. These are the replies we got:
