TV celebs talk about Gudi Padwa!

Gudi Padwa

Gudi Padwa is one of the major festivals of Maharashtra, and marks the beginning of the New Year. The festival is celebrated by people in the state with a lot of frolic. On this occasion we spoke to few Maharashtrian actors and asked them about the celebration plans. Here’s what they said…

Rachana Parulkar

I usually perform my morning puja with my entire family followed by breakfast. As its Maharashtrian new year my mother prepares puri and shrikhand with sweets. And for dinner we always go out to a vegetarian restaurant. As a ritual we wear green sarees or something traditional in the same colour and it's a ritual that we follow.

Tejaswi Wayangankar

As I am busy with my shoot so no special celebration. I wish my fans a very happy Gudi Padwa.

Sumeet Raghavan

Luckily, I have an off today and in the evening my son is performing live (piano) so we are really excited for the same. We do nothing special except for doing small things like putting up the gudi. It marks the beginning of spring. We being south Indians, celebrate it as Ugadi in Karnataka.  Wishing all a very happy Gudi Padwa.

Pranali Ghogare

Today, I am cooking puri, yellow batata sabji, chole and amrakhand for my family. I am trying to impress God and my family with some yummy recipes. Happy Gudi Padwa!

Deepali Pansare

Luckily, I got chance to be with my parents on this Gudi Padwa. We did puja of gudi in the morning and since puranpoli is today’s specialty, I will be making some with my family. Now, I am leaving for Mumbai to spend the rest of the day with my husband.

Mrunal Thakur

Happy Gudi Padwa to all. There is nothing special planned for the New Year, but I would like to wish everyone a great day.

Manasi Salvi

It's only me and my daughter today to celebrate the day.  A morning trip to the temple, lunch and we wrap it up with Kapoor and Sons. It's quite a girl dominated Gudi Padwa for us.

Amruta Khanvilkar

It’s the start of our Marathi calendar and also our New Year. The gudi that we put outside the door is a symbol of success, a sign of our raising standards of life, doing well in life. On this day I and my mother dress up in the typical Maharashtrian attire, do the pooja and prepare delicious food and sweets. Besides shreekhand and puri, special kheer with dry fruits is also prepared. It is one of the brightest days and gives very positive feeling.

Anuja Sathe

I am shooting today. Hope the New Year has all the colours of happiness and laughter. Happy Gudi Padwa.

Yashshri Masurkar

I have not planned anything special, just chilling at home. I wish my fans a very happy Gudi Padwa.

Wishing all a very happy Gudi Padwa!
