TV celebs who transitioned to Bollywood!

The big screen has always lured our TV celebs. Many have tried their luck; some were able to stand tall while some failed miserably. Those that have withstood the storms of competition with the help of not just their luck but an equal amount of perseverance, talent and hard work have made it big.

Gautam Gulati is a popular television face. He shot to fame after his winning stint in Bigg Boss season 8 hosted by Salman Khan. He had also done a lot of daily soaps, he played the character of Teji in Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna, in Kasamh Se he essayed the role of Varun Sahil Bali. He won a lot of adulation for his portrayal of Vikram Rathi in Diya Aur Baati Hum. His first prominent stint on the big screen was in the Emraan Hashmi starrer Azhar where he played the real life character of yesteryear cricketer Ravi Shashtri. Thereafter he had a meaty role in Tony D’souza’s  recent release Behen Hogi Teri where he played Rahul.

Heartthrob Karan Singh Grover popularly known as KSG is a big name in the TV industry. He debuted on TV with Kitni Mast Hai Zindagii but shot to limelight with the role of Dr. Armaan Malik in the Star One TV serial Dil Mil Gaye. He would go his female fans ogling at his ripped biceps, broad and beefy chest in the show. He made his way to Bollywood with his appearance in the lead opposite Bipasha Basu in the Bhushan Patel directed 2015 film Alone. He also starred in Hate Story 3 in the manipulating role of Saurav Singhania along with Sharman Joshi, Daisy Shah and Zarine Khan.

Handsome hunk Siddharth Shukla is a popular face on TV. He made his debut with Babul ka Aangann Chootey Na where he played the affable character of Shubh Ranawat. He got his first taste of fame through his portrayal of Shiv in Balika Vadhu opposite the late. Pratyusha Banerjee. He also bagged the winner trophy in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 7. He made his Bollywood debut with Dharma Productions’ Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Currently he is seen playing the character of Parth in the daily soap Dil Se Dil Tak. 

Gurmeet Choudhary achieved a lot of popularity for his portrayal of Maan Singh Khurrana’s character in STAR One’s Geet Hui Sabse Parai, produced under the Endemol banner.  He was the winner of Sony TV’s Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 5. He was also a contestant on Nach Baliye season 6 alongwith wife Debina Bonnerjee. He made his debut in Bollywood through the 2015 horror flick Khamoshiyan under the Vishesh films banner along with Ali Fazal and Sapna Pabbi. Choudhary followed it with the 2016 crime thriller Wajah Tum Ho opposite Sana Khan. He made girls swoon over his vascular body, pumped chest and his lean face in the film. The film was a dud at the box office but did increase his female fan following.

Rajeev Khandelwal is a famous TV actor. He shot to fame for his role of Sujal on Balaji Telefilms’ Kahin to Hoga opposite Aamna Sharif. He also hosted a reality show Sach ka Samna and also appeared in CID.  He made his Bollywood debut with Aamir and his role was critically acclaimed. He also acted in Table No. 21.
