We are in a Golden Age of Television where there are intricate plot lines and costly sets found in almost any show. But what is most common is that almost all are women driven shows. Here’s what they said: Mohit Malik: The character of Urmi in Doli Armaano Ki is something different and original. I love the patience she has to make her relationship work and the hard work she puts in to justify such situations. I feel this is the kind of character that is found in every married woman today who takes her stand on violence and the unjust attitude women face today. Hence, to me this is completely inspirational. Karan Mehra: I think the character of Bhabo played by Neelu Vaghela in Diya Aur Baati Hum is very inspiring. Though she is from a Rajasthani background, the problems and challenges she faces are handled in a very different way with great poise and despite the challenges the way she holds the family together is an amazing watch. Her character defines womanhood; I find her character truly inspiring. Gaurav Khanna: I feel the character of Ammaji essayed by Meghna Malik in Na Aana Is Des Laado was a very strong role. Yes, the show went off air but her role was inspiring a lot in recent times. Apart from being a woman, she was a single parent and the way she led the entire village was worth an applaud. Saurabh Raaj Jain: I would choose Draupadi, the heroic princess of Mahabharat to be an inspirational character. Even though she does not fall into the fictional genre, I would still choose her for being inspirational because I feel despite the problems and troublesome circumstances she faced in her life; she was firm and a woman with an unbending will. After so long, she has remained an enigmatic woman of substance. Fahad Ali: I like the character of Kokila in Saath Nibhana Saathiya. I feel she is a fantabulous lady who can control the on-goings of her family and hold high the morals and ethics of her family. Another name which comes to my mind is the character of Dadi Sa essayed by Surekha Sikri Rege in Balika Vadhu. Dadi Sa too is an avid and wonderful character. Jay Soni: The character of Ansu Baa, essayed by Aruna Irani in Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ka is someone who has always stood up for and brought up her children with high values they still abide by. According to me, the discipline she has set in her house is something remarkable.
