Rajeev rebuffs Star show offer

Rajeev rebuffs Star show offer Hot from the oven. Rajeev Khandelwal (aka Sujal of Kahiin To Hoga) refused Ashim Samanta's offer for a role in Kaalchakra, Star Plus' forthcoming mystery drama likely to be aired from August. If the grapevine is to be believed, he was offered either Mukul Dev or newcomer Manav's role. We feel the guy didn't find the role meaty and central enough. Right Sujal, err, Rajeev? Preeti bids adieu to Saara Akaash
Preeti bids adieu to Saara Akaash Writer-actor Preeti Dayal had her hands full, what with Saara Akaash and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin happening simultaneously. Last heard, Preeti is no more penning Miditech's show starring Sai Deodhar, Shakti Anand and Sonal Sehgal. For those who haven't tuned in for a while, Manav Gohil, Anuj Saxena and Manish Goel opted out of the air force drama long ago. The TRPs of Sony's dearest show Jassi Jaissi.... have been showing a teeny weeny dip in the recent past. Let's see if Dayal's solo concentration on Jassi... can elevate the TRPs to their original position or take them further up. Will Shahid's mom be third time lucky? Did you know that Neelima Azeem, mother of teenage heart-throb Shahid Kapur, has wed for the third time? Separated from her first husband Pankaj Kapur, she had married Rajesh Kakkad (the Anil Kapoor lookalike inspector in Cinevistaas' mega serial Junoon). Incidentally, Kakkad and Azeem played husband and wife in that serial. The new man in Neelima's life is Ustad Raza Ali Khan, son of Ustad Munnawar Ali Khan and grandson of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. The Azeem- Khan nikaah was solemnized in Mumbai almost a month ago but the couple wanted to keep it under wraps for some time. Double whammy - Hansika ready to roll Hansika Motwani is tremendously excited. And why not? Sony is focussing all the promos of its forthcoming show Hum 2 Hai Na (likely to go on air from 15 July) on the young girl who has just entered the eighth standard at school. Hansika will play a double role in the show, depicting two sisters. For those who suspect that the show will be a repeat telecast of hit Hindi films like Do Kaliyan and Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Hansika denies, "There is no similarity between this serial and those old movies." Some time ago, the cute teenager had told us that she'll be taking a break from acting to concentrate on studies after she completes her seventh standard. However, she seems to have had a change of heart. She has shifted from the Podar High School to Podar International, which follows a US Board pattern, allows usage of laptop and gives no homework. Does that mean we can expect to see more of Hansika? Vatsal keeping his fingers crossed This monsoon, Vatsal Sheth (of Just Mohabbat) makes his Bollywood splash with Ayesha 'Shake It Daddy' Takia. Taarzan- The Wonder Car directed by Abbas-Mastan, who specialise in thrillers, is ready for release. The car has generated immense curiosity, courtesy the special effects involved. Seth plays an automobile engineer. Incidentally, the other debutante Ayesha, has also signed Anant Mahadevan's directorial venture Dil Maange More. For those who didn't know, Mahadevan wielded the megaphone for Sony's Devi almost until Aman Varma entered with his wily locks and magic wand. Negar to pair with boyfriend in movie Negar Chadhti Jawani Khan (lately in the news for her nude pictures that appeared in a Norway magazine) and boyfriend Saahil Khan have been cast in romantic leads for a film produced by Manoj Nandwana and directed by Ashok Gaikwad. The film has a mixture of film and telly actors- Shatrughan Sinha, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Shakti Kapoor, Kiran Kumar and Mohnish Behl. Who knew, Indian television would help someone continue to make news every now and then. That it would be sometimes for the wrong reasons is a different story.
